Our first day

Wow... that was a long day! Mama and Papa had been told by the doctor that we should come on Jan 4th (two weeks early), but we were so well taken take of in Mama's belly that we wanted to stay.

So Mama and Papa went to the San Diego UCSD hospital at 6 a.m. Omi came too. First things first: an IV for Mama. There were quite a lot of tubes!

Then the induction process started. They gave Mama a bunch of hormones and fluids and things started slowly... very slowly... After 24 hours, not much progress... In the middle of the night, Mama's water broke. So there was hope... However, at the end of Tuesday morning, the labor was not progressing fast enough. And because of possible complications with twin pregnancy, the recommendation was to do a C-section. Then things accelerated dramatically. Mama was admitted in the operating room at 2.13pm, and by 2.17pm for Céleste and 2.18pm for Emilie we were both born!  This picture is of Celeste being born.  The doctors were too quick for a shot of Emilie coming out.  Omi was taking pictures from a window.

Mama did a great job keeping us for more than 38 weeks. That's quite an achievement with twins! Thanks Mama! At least we were full term! So here is a picture of us at birth. Céleste was 6lb 9oz (or 2,99kg) and 20"3 tall (51.50cm) and Emilie was 5lb 1oz (or 2,29kg) and 18"11 tall (46.00cm).
Everyone was quite surprised by our weight disparity, since the doctors had estimated we were about the same weight!

So Céleste was able to go with Mama at the recovery room, and Emilie went to the NICU for few days for some closer monitoring.

And we are now here, to give our parents, family and friends wonderful adventures!
