A little parent love here:
Emilie: I am REALLY trying to crawl. And I am pretty excited that I can scoot backwards on my belly!
Here we are chilling on our sofa. Emilie is sitting in our big twin nursing pillow (we are so big now, our legs totally hang off the end when we are on it!). Celeste is sitting in the round "staging pillow" where Mama used to prop both of us before loading us on the pillow.
Emilie: shortly after this photo was taken, I was sitting on the "staging pillow" and Mama went to grab the phone. I decided to take the opportunity to jump off the sofa head first! I learned what it feels like to fall onto the hardwood floor, but that hasn't stopped me from trying to repeat my circus act!! The staging pillow is now gone, and Mama "stages" us on the floor or with herself barricading the front of the sofa while she puts on the nursing pillow. Oh and I had a red circle on my forehead for several hours, but I am fine!
Celeste: Where is the "dislike" button on my highchair?!
Actually I liked the food just fine, it is WAITING that I am not a fan of!!
Emilie: I think I have a future as a food critic, "this pureed green stuff has JUST the right amount of chunkiness that makes it a perfect pairing for baby oatmeal."
Emilie: We are getting teeth (the better to bite Mama with!). You can see mine when I smile!
Celeste: Oh and guess what? Mama and Papa have a FAVORITE! Can you believe it? We are only 8 months old and already they have declared a FAVORITE!!!
Celeste and Emilie: Obviously, it's ME! Hey, what?!

How scary about Emilie. Julia was sitting up in her Boppy on the floor the other day and suddenly leapt forward and hit her head on the crib, which was about 14 inches from the end of the Boppy.
ReplyDeleteI went through the same thing when James fell off the bed. I announced no more feeding them in Boppies on the sofa. Floor only.
