Mama told us the story of when she was in 2nd grade and she was used to demonstrate the difference between oval and round. The teacher had everyone sit in a circle and said "Dee Dee and Natascha have oval shaped heads and the rest of us have nice round heads." Mama says Emilie has a beautiful oval head and Celeste has a beautiful round head! (We think this is a touchy subject for Mama!)

ReplyDeleteand since when is an oval head a bad thing? i thought an oval shaped face was a mark of great beauty... i think maybe your 2d grade teacher had some significant pathology (that's nice dr. talk for "f***ing nuts").
Oval vs round?? Of course! Some gets "0" and some gets "o". vive la difference! "Nice" round? Oval is nice too. Your teacher was most judgemental.
